Color vision has conceptually helped to explain multiple phenomena in nature. Moreover, formal representations of these concepts following the structures of quantum theory have been developed, by means of the density mattrix formulation.
In this work, we show a direct connection of this formalism of color vision with the formulation of fragile systems, described by a real projective Hilbert space operating on the infinite-dimensional space of light spectra functions in the visible domain. It follows that the expected value for real valued matrices (in whichthe Jordan product is just the direct product between matrices) leads to the fragile systems trace rule of thedensity matrix formalism. Our results suggest a future integration of such approaches leading to a fragile model for color vision and the optimization of algorithms for camera and screens in colour resolution, preventing eye strain.
